I'm trying to use PCMCIA but I always get the following output:

# /etc/rc.d/pcmcia start
:: Starting PCMCIA Services [BUSY] cardmgr[4794]: no sockets found! [DONE]

I know I have a PC Card slot because I am looking right at it ;) I'm not sure if this is an Arch bug or not but when I loaded a live cd (Xfld, kernel 2.6) as a test, pcmcia worked there and my wireless card was successfully powered on. I can't get my wireless card to power on with Arch presumably because of this problem.

perhaps your controller is not a yenta_socket or i8235
try to edit /etc/conf.d/pcmcia to fit your needs for your setup
