Description: missing wv2 in dependencies, so opening .doc files is impossible (in fact http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=96&t=88165 here additionally installing wv2 solved the problem but I've got KOffice 2.3.3 and after installing wv2 KWord still can't open .doc files). wv2 should be enough, because in first I've reported this bug in KDE bugs page and, here someone told me that libwv2 (in Arch wv2) is necessary.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

Steps to reproduce: install KOffice (eg. koffice-meta-koffice), and try to open .doc file.

The wv2 source has been included in koffice since 2.3, but it is not compiled in Arch packages because of the missing libgsf makedepends:

if(GLIB2_FOUND AND GOBJECT_FOUND AND ICONV_FOUND AND LIBGSF_FOUND)
add_subdirectory(msword-odf)
endif(GLIB2_FOUND AND GOBJECT_FOUND AND ICONV_FOUND AND LIBGSF_FOUND)

So what can I do to work on .doc files in KOffice?

Rebuild koffice with libgsf installed, or wait for its maintainer to do it

Someone please attach a simple doc file so I don't have to hunt down the internet.

Calligra is a good idea (apart from the fact that it's still beta), but I don't want to make mess in packages adding l10n manually. I build Calligra just to check if there is doc files support, and there is (but now I know why in Calligra it works, and doesn't in KOffice…).
