Details

after upgrading libpoppler to poppler-glib 0.18.0-1, epdfview is broken:

[onny@eee ~]$ epdfview
epdfview: error while loading shared libraries: libpoppler-glib.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[onny@eee ~]$ ls /usr/lib/libpoppler-glib.so*
/usr/lib/libpoppler-glib.so /usr/lib/libpoppler-glib.so.8 /usr/lib/libpoppler-glib.so.8.2.0

It seems that epdfview (community/epdfview 0.1.8-1) is not compatible with the new version of the library.

compiling and installing epdfview-svn from aur (using yaourt) solves the problem :)

we have epdfview 0.1.8-2 in community.
