I can confirm this for x86_64. Same log.

move away ~/.eclipse. It can't be a packaging bug since we just repackage what upstream offers

The delete of the folder has no effect. Same problems.

eclipse-SDK-3.7.1-linux-gtk-x86_64.tar.gz from eclipse.org works well.

SO what is wrong with a arch package?
Comment by Ionut Biru (wonder) - Saturday, 15 October 2011, 10:48 GMT

Check if there is a config.ini.pacnew in /usr/share/eclipse/configuration. If it exists, replace it with the config.ini.pacnew. That worked for me.

Thanx! Now it works.

After replacing the config:
Could not open the editor: No editor descriptor for id org.python.pydev.editor.PythonEditor It's the error inside the eclipse, doesnt work pydev :(
I need it to do my job so it's pretty important.

i didn't investigate well before adding /usr/share/eclipse/configuration/config.ini to backup.

the file contains references to paths that change with every version.

be sure you are using the one from package

So? what to do?
Comment by Ionut Biru (wonder) - Saturday, 15 October 2011, 17:27 GMT
rm /usr/share/eclipse/configuration/config.ini
pacman -Syu eclipse
