Details

Description: Just upgraded VLC from 1.1.11-5 to 1.1.12-1 and every sound file crackles (sound in video and sound files like mp3 or ogg).
I use Pulseaudio 1.0-3

It also happens here. It does not occur with 1.1.7-6, the version I'm stuck with.

No pulse audio here, just ALSA and JACK backends.

Same problem here. This happened a few months ago and they fixed the problem a few versions later so I presume its a similar issue.

This happened a few months ago too, please report it to the upstream.
I cannot able to reproduce that issue because I don't use pulseaudio.

I was able to get the crackling sound to go away by going into the sound options and selecting the output rather than just leaving it at default.

that fix worked for me the last time I had this problem but I had to select a different output each time. Did nothing this time though.
