I wrote that you have to 'export CLUTTER_DISABLE_ARGB_VISUAL=1' before run the most of clutter-based apps.

However, it's a problem that clutter/cogl unable to fall back to work without ARGB visuals, and another problem is that totem won't show an error dialog, when something broken (as quadrapassel do).

And I think it was a very bad decision by totem developers to drop the old Gtk/GSstreamer based backend, and use clutter-gst exclusively.

Ok György, I can export CLUTTER_DISABLE_ARGB_VISUAL and I'll do that.

But Totem (due to clutter/cogl or wathever) is broken and I think that a task should remind this.

Moreover this task is to report that clutter-gst 1.4.2 didn't fix anything.

clutter-gst 1.4.2 fixed a critical part of the problem, not the whole problem. You could still report another parts, but please note that it's an upstream problem somewhere in cogl, clutter, clutter-gtk, clutter-gst and totem, so please report them on GNOME Bugzilla.

Reported to totem developers https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=660930 hoping they'll investigate into causes and will report them to the proper component.

I proposed a patch which solves this problem: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=663127

It's added to 1.8 branch, which means that this fix will be available in clutter 1.8.3:
http://git.gnome.org/browse/clutter/commit/?h=clutter-1.8&id=f05432d57e5e980d0841fd6c13a7f886a46107fe

Please apply this patch until upstream makes a new release.
