Description:

Previously, the Official Install Guide was available at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Official_Arch_Linux_Install_Guide . As of the 15th of September, this only has links to various code repositories.

These repos only hold markdown, so there's currently no way to view the rendered HTML of the install guide without the user firing up a markdown renderer. It would be really good to have the documentation available somewhere. http://www.archlinux.org/ , Google, all seem to point to the wiki page.

Thanks.

There is a plain text version: http://projects.archlinux.org/aif.git/plain/doc/official_installation_guide_en
Isn't that good enough?

Contrast that with https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php?title=Official_Installation_Guide&oldid=152699 . There's a table of contents, links can be clicked, and it's generally more attractive. Your link is markdown source -- surely that's intended to go into a tool that understands markdown?

The comment in wiki history says: "remove official guide from wiki -- it is maintained in aif.git and causes confusion here)"

I suppose the wiki article wasn't kept up-to-date.

Eric is right, the guide was outdated: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/25688

Is this still relevant? A plain text copy of the file is on the iso.
