wicd is not able to config ip. one possible reason is related to "hostname"

/bin/hostname seems to be missing in the latest net-tools on at least x86_64. Both dhclient and dhcpcd complained about it when used manually, and wicd failed to connect.

I tried a simple bash script to replace hostname and this error disappeared: "/usr/lib/dhcpcd/dhcpcd-hooks/30-hostname: line 9: hostname: command not found".
However, the connection didn't work.

I downgraded net-tools to the previous version (1.60-18), deleted my dummy hostname script and it's working again.

According to the commit diff, /bin/hostname is supposed to be supplied from inetutils now.

deps: replace net-tools with iproute2 according to debian
net-tools is deprecated

same problem on i686 here. Wicd doesn't connect w-lan. Downgrading net-tools works.

Same here. Using networkmanager as a workaround.

Installing inetutils and iproute2 make all errors related to hostname go away in wicd.log, but the connection still does not work.
