I found now this information on the Anjuta website:
gtkpod is a graphical user interface for the Apple iPod for Unix-like systems, written using the GTK+ toolkit. Version 2 of the gtkpod exploits the Anjuta platform for its UI and plugin capabilities, thereby making gtkpod a far more flexible application in the features it can enable for any user session. If you would like to exploit the Anjuta framework in a similar manner then please contact either the Anjuta or gtkpod developer mailing lists.

Now it is more clear. But strange to install a development IDE to use a ipod front end.

But when we try to split out more subparts of the upstream, than we'll going the debian way.
Comment by Ionut Biru (wonder) - Monday, 03 October 2011, 20:16 GMT
yes, i don't like splitting...

I looked into whether upstream were going to separate the libs out of ajunta and the answer appears no... So unless we split, there is nothing that can be done. As Ionut does not want to split Ajunta, closing as "Not a bug".
