Description:
when pacman -S Networkmanager network-manager-applet is ran it installs them without wimax support but networkmanager runs. However Wimax is my main method for internet connection so I downloaded the PKGBUILD from (Link 1) and edited the last line in the Configure section of the PKGBUILD to read --enable-wimax then I ran makepkg -si but for some reason networkmanager won't run at all.

it's worth noting that before the upgrade I had installed the beta version of networkmanager back in Feb 2011 for wimax support with make and make install and when gnome's upgrade yesterday required networkmanager 0.9.1.90-1 I installed that and the problems began. Wimax is still accessible through wimaxcu in terminal just not in networkmanager which is required cause I need to know if it gets disconnected

Link 1: http://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/tree/trunk?h=packages/networkmanager

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

networkmanager 0.9.1.90-1

Steps to reproduce:
1. Edit the above PKGBUILD to read --enable-wimax instead of --disable-wimax
2. makepkg -si
3. reboot or rc.d start networkmanager //this assumes network-manager-applet was already installed//
4. nothing happens

If this is just a fluke thing with my machine could it be possible to add wimax support to networkmanager or add a networkmanager-wimax package that comes with it enabled thanks in advance for helping me with this

sounds like a bug that should be reported to networkmanager project. you should include a non empty /var/log/daemon.log in your report

what do you expect me to do? our package doesn't have wimax, you should contact upstream

i could only tell what information to add in the report like:

NetworkManager --no-daemon

if is crashing, recompile networkmanager with debug and attach a gdb trace.
