DetailsSFML is not API stable.
A git snapshot should not be the only available sfml package in "Community". Perhaps "Community-Testing" should use a git build, but "Community" should not. There are differences in basic functionality between stable SFML 1.6 and the package provided in "Community". (e.g. TCP socket class renamed, event polling function renamed) Software based on SFML 1.6 will not work with the provided "1.99.git...." version. Trying to base code on the unstable SFML is not feasible either. It really is not API stable. "Community" should provide SFML 1.6 for the "sfml" package in my opinion. |
