Description:
openjdk6 can't connect to servers over http connections. If I try to do a data update with tvbrowser it takes 3-4 minutes until it finds a server and downloads the data. If I try to open a documentation page from eclipse (e.g. "Overview" -> "Java development") it also takes 3-4 minutes until Firefox gets started and the documentation websites from http://127.0.0.1:53037/ are loaded. If the tvbrowser data is updated a second time and a second documentation page of eclipse gets opened, the connections are opened at once. The same happens with Oracle JRE 6. After uninstalling openjdk6 and installing jre 7-3 and jdk 7-3 from http://arm.konnichi.com the bug is fixed. So I think this bug is fixed in openjdk7, too. So it would be nice if openjdk6 would be updated to openjdk7 or if openjdk7 would be additionally added to [extra]. Both versions (openjdk6 and openjdk7) are marked as stable by upstream. |

Additional comments about closing: there's nothing we can do at ArchLinux.

And, btw., don't forget to move icedtea-web-java7 from [testing] to [extra], too, due to optdepends.
