Details

If I upload the file 'hotwayd.tar.gz', which contains the file 'hotwayd', there is an error. I'm assuming this is because the backend tries to create a directory named 'hotwayd' but the file already exists

Can you attach the hotwayd.tar.gz to this bug? That would be helpful, because then we can recreate the problem.

The problem here is that the tar should contain a top-level directory "hotwayd" which matches the name of your package. It won't work without this.

We're going to add more rigorous checking of tar files at a later date, complaining earlier if things aren't in the right form. But that doesn't have to be tracked in this bug, too.

Since there's already a hotwayd package in the AUR now, I'm going to close this bug. If you have the problem again, and it's not as I've diagnosed, open a new bug.
