Description:
Due to new default mode in agetty, add, please, parameter "--noclear" to commandline.


Additional info - manpage for agetty (util-linux 2.20-2):
--noclear
Do not clear the screen before prompting for the login name (the screen is normally cleared).

P.S. For example:
c1:2345:respawn:/sbin/agetty --noclear -8 -s 38400 tty1 linux

The upstream change made sense to me, so why do you want to make the change?

The upstream behavior makes sense. If you don't agree with it, you're free to alter your inittab as you see fit.

As I did :-)

But /etc/issue have "clear screen" ESC-code too. I think, it turns functionality duplication.
This is not a problem. Only feature request. :-)

@BeerMan: Excellent point, we don't want to configure this in several places. The ESC-codes will be removed from /etc/issue in the next release, and it should then only be configured in inittab.

As to the feature request: We always follow upstream unless there is a very good reason not to, and since this seems to just come down to personal preference, I will close this as won't implement.
