DetailsThe powerdown kernel call hangs on my Asus F3T without actually turning off the laptop. Last line printed is acpi_power_off call.
Poweroff, suspend and hibernate spin down hard drives, but all fail to turn off laptop. Resuming from hibernation works, but I have to turn off laptop manually by holding power button. Last kernel version not having this issue: 2.6.37.5-1 I found temporary workaround in this similar old bug: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8549 The workaround: - Run your computer with battery power - Wait until it suspends to disc, then remove battery - Load your battery and restart the computer - Powerdown works now |

I have some similar issues but only sometimes. Laptop (Asus U36SD) does not turn off finally. I didn't found out which circumstances are responsible for it as it does not happen every time.
