During testing, I had the misfortune of typing in a path that doesn't exist on my machine on the package submission page. It took me forever to figure this out because the error message displayed was "No PKGBUILD found". I discovered that a zero length file existed, and thus never got extracted.

The attatched patch checks for zero length uploaded files "duds", and fails gracefully with a more informative error message.
