Description:
When searching for "google voice empathy", no results appear. The results should show packages like telepathy-theonering for example.

The description of the package is this: "Plugin that integrates Google Voice with Empathy and Maemo RTComm 4.1 or 5"

So obviously, this package should show up in the results.

Of course, one can use Google to search as well, but that defeats the purpose of having a search field on the AUR page.

The AUR uses an exact match search. "google voice with empathy" should show the package.

That's true. I had already noticed that. It'd be cool to have a checkbox next to the search field for "exact match". It'd be cool if I'd stop talking and suggested a patch. hehe. If I ever have some time for a practice project I will. ;)

  • Field changed: Summary (AUR search doesn't work properly. → Implement keyword search)
  • Field changed: Category (Packages → Backend)
  • Field changed: Reported Version ( → 1.9.0)
  • Field changed: Architecture (All → All)
  • Field changed: Severity (High → Medium)
Fixed the ticket description and severity.

The keyword search should be the default search modality.
The exact match is useful in some rare case.

I agree with Simon.

Here is another example "python visualization". There are 18 packages whose names start with python... and have "visualization" in their description.

Now, try to find python2-yt-hg. Search for "yt" -> 4790 hits. Search for "python" -> 4313 hits. Search for "yt python" -> 0 hits.
