I suggest adding a few compile-time options to the Bochs PKGBUILD (issued to ./configure)

--with-wx

WxWidgets GUI which is a million times better than the default X Windows version, also allows you to configure from within the GUI.

--enable-cpu-level=6
--enable-4meg-pages
--enable-global-pages
--enable-pae
--enable-fpu
--enable-mmx
--enable-3dnow
--enable-sse
--enable-sep

Various modern CPU features. I needed the first three, so I couldn't use the Arch package.

There are many more features (./configure --help | less) but these seem the most important.

Luke - Remember, Arch is a i686 distro so anything that causes it not to run on a PPRO or Celeron1 should be avoided in official packages.

These are emulation options (they will work regardless of host CPU). Bochs does full emulation rather than virtualisation as VMWare does. I think by default Bochs emulates a 386 which is not very useful for anything more serious than running DOS.

After giving it a bit of thought, it might cause a few problems to use the Wx GUI, since people will have to change their bochsrc files.
