Humm, not a logrotate issue, i guess cup only loads the log file descriptor once on start and never closes it (until process ends)

So I guess I'll have to patch up the cups code, anyone find a patch or should I write it?

heitzso.. is the latest ver of cups still giving you this prob? I want to close the bug if they have fixed it. There isn't a trivial fix, just they method they do logging. I could write a quick and dirty patch but there's usaully a reason to why a programmer chooses to log this way and I don't wanna screw somthing up.

I hadn't been watching the cups logging pattern recently and just jumped over to gentoo so cannot run tests to check under arch anymore. So I cannot comment on current cups logging behavior under arch.
