Description:
Related to (but different from) bugtracker 23896. One problem when installing ArchLinux from NetInstall DVD is that the mirrorlist in the DVD contains a lot of out-of-date (and downright broken) mirrors and it's (without access to another ArchLinux installation) impossible to know which mirrors are running to use in the installation, trial and error is good enough but many people installing Arch for the first time get stuck at this step without guessing what's the problem. It would be very nice to have a permanent list with the most up-to-date mirrors in some fixed permanent URL and make the NetInstall DVD check that web to present just the running mirrors.

Additional info:
-ArchLinux 2010.5 NetInstall Dual Architecture DVD.

Steps to reproduce:
-Install Arch from NetInstall DVD.

There's http://www.archlinux.org/mirrorlist/ but we can't alter the old images. It's certainly something to think about creating new ones.

it would be nice to add it to the features of the next installation DVD-image release, don't know when it's supossed to be released (you could add the fix to bug number 25477 in too)
