Details
libtool depends on gcc which might not really necessary by
those packages which depend on libtool. An option would be
either make gcc optional or somehow split the package.
Esp. on server some people don't like having gcc installed which is now pulled in via mcrypt. |

The gcc dependency is really needed (it is strictly versioned for a reason) so making it an optdepend is really out of the question (at least until pacman-4.1 comes out with better optdepends support).
I am also not really a fan of splitting libltdl out into its own package as that seems a bit un-Arch like given the size of the package and it appears not particularly easy to do given the install targets in the libtool Makefile. But that does seem the "best" option to remove the gcc dependency...
