Details

The 2010.05 netinstall CD mkinitcpio can't handle the new version formats of the 3.0 kernel series (automatically pulled during the install), and thus fails to create an appropriate initrd, making the system non-bootable.

Steps to re-create:
* Start the 2010.05 netinstall CD
* Install the system with the root partition on a logical volume
* During system configuration, change USELVM to yes in rc.conf, and add the lvm2 hook to mkinitcpio.conf
* Finish the install and reboot

Reason for closing:  Duplicate
Additional comments about closing:   FS#25477  - Installer on netinstall sets grub to kernel26 when it gets linux-3.0.1
