Description:

Chromium 15.0.838.0 fixes a problem of high power consumption due to too many CPU wakeups:
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=77625#c33

This is especially important on my laptop where I have limited battery power.

So please package and release chromium v15 into extra.

Currently, only chromium 13.0.782.112-1 is available in extra:
http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/chromium/

Since Chromium 15 is not stable, I don't think they will suddenly decide to package it but you can always try the packages in AUR such as:

I uploaded 13.0.782.112-2 to [extra] which includes the fix from http://code.google.com/p/v8/source/detail?r=8472.

Please confirm that the high power usage issue is solved in the new package.

Thanks for the quick response and packaging, Evangelos! I am happy to report that the new package solves the problem. SignalSender now causes very little wakeups and is near the bottom of PowerTOP output. :-)
