because of a bug in grub package. iso 2011.08.09
 FS#25442  - grub-install fails with: Error 6: Mismatched or corrupt version of stage1/stage2
with new package in core, should be ok.

I have also experienced this which caused the 2011.08.09 iso install to fail on me

can anyone confirm this is fixed? new package is in core since august 10, so the 08.11 or 08.12 (tomorrow) should have the fix

oh, I tried the netinstall, I'm not sure if core is fixed, as long as it has grub pkgrel 20
