This bug happens when I use the lastest archiso and aif 2010-09

The /dev/mapper/root-image is used by archiso while aif tries to mount and partition it.

The error output: error: unrecognized partition type raw for partition /dev/mapper/root-image. This should never happen. Please report this.

don't try to mount/partition a device which is in use.
the real problem is, aif should not show this device in the first place.
See  FS#25425  - [aif] block device lists includes archiso's /dev/mapper devices
