I have noticed that the "Vote" column in the AUR packages table is needed only to show if you have voted for a package (correct me if I'm wrong).

What about showing this information in another way? Maybe coloring the vote entry (the number of votes for that package) in another color, to show you that the number counts your vote already.
In this way there would be more space for the description column.

Reason for closing:  Won't fix
Additional comments about closing:  UI improvment is an ongoing project. This may yet happen some day, but for now, no.

Actually, the votes column shows the total number of votes for a package, not just your votes.

But to save column space, maybe the package name could be prefixed with the number of votes? Something like "(5) lilypond 2.4.4-1" or "(0) thingo 1.31-1"? That would be a very quick fix.

I think you're actually talking about the "Votes" column, which shows the total number of votes for a package.
But when you log in the table changes and a new column appears, its name is "Vote" (singular) and has the only purpose to show you if you have voted or not for that particular package (the value of the column can just be "Yes" or nohing).

It seems like you could save the width of the "Vote" (Yes/No) column by using some sort of a color indication. That would save some space, and make it very easy to see what you'd voted for and what you hadn't.

Then again, coloring something useful might be hard, so it's entirely up to you Eric.

I think at this point, we've decided to leave the vote column as is. Eric is gone, and so is not likely to weigh in on this!

Can we close this bug or is there more we should discuss?

I'm closing it because I like a clean bug tracker :D

This bug fits under the general category of "UI improvements", and I think that since that's an ongoing project, we should take note of, and delete related bugs.
