Description:
Adding this line to /usr/bin/mysql-workbench:

export GNOME_KEYRING_CONTROL="$pidof gnome-keyring-daemon"

would make use of gnome keyring, which makes password management easier.


could this be added by default into package installation?

imo that is an upstream bug because, default GNOME_KEYRING_CONTROL does something else.

type env | grep -i keyring
GNOME_KEYRING_CONTROL=/tmp/keyring-NQZWL8
GNOME_KEYRING_PID=1916

they should just use GNOME_KEYRING_PID

well at least on debian it works out of the box... so I thought changes to /usr/bin/mysql-workbench script is made deliberately by package maintainer here. So you wanna say that /usr/bin/mysql-workbench file upstream version is used unchanged?

report upstream to mysql workbench tracker. I don't want to patch this out and i prefer to be fixed proper by upstream.
