Detailsdmraid and hylafax also contain /var/lock and pacman removes the directory (because it's empty) when you remove one of those packages. Some software depends on /var/lock being present so unexpected behaviour will occur as describe in

FS#18157), /var/lock will be replaced by a symlink soon.https://www.archlinux.org/todo/70/
Once that's completed, that problem will be fixed.
So with every package we "fix" the problem will affect more people.
