DetailsThe git version of the intel driver now has included the SandyBridge's New Acceleration (SNA) code, which reportedly provides a good speed bump and which fixes some problems with transparency (and possibly other things) even on non Sandy Bridge architectures, e.g. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38823.
Please enable SNA on the next release (assuming it's bug-free enough) by including the --enable-sna flag on the ./configure in the PKGBUILD. Thanks! |

Reason for closing: Won't implement
Additional comments about closing: We'll include it when it's ready. So far this feature is experimental and it requires additional patching inside xorg-server. So far there's no support 1.10 and 1.11, as these patches will break ABI.

We'll probably make a split-build that builds two packages: one with SNA and one without. SNA will probably have a lot of regressions and it's a compile-time feature, so it's better to provide both.
