I cannot reproduce the issue; it starts fine here. You might want to see if your system is fully up to date (pacman -Syu) and then post the error message you're getting when you run mldonkey_gui from the terminal.

Attention!
This core is running with glibc 2.14 but it was compiled with glibc 2.13.
This can lead to unexpected behaviour. Consider compiling the core yourself
or getting a binary compiled with glibc 2.13.

I believe it's safe to ignore that warning. While binaries compiled with glibc 2.14 might refuse to work with older glibc versions, the opposite is fine.

So the program is starting up after all. It's just tossing that error
message. I did a recompile with the transition from glibc 2.12 to
glibc 2.13, but I don't remember the details. I may have just done it
to get rid of the error message...

Oops, no, mldonkey refuses to start, but I am wondering why you both don't meet this problem.
No process can be found after run mldonkey in the terminal, and I can't access through the web page too.

Oh, I remove the old .mldonkey folder, now it works with this warning message. Maybe something wrong with my old configuration, I don't know, I didn't touch that many days. Thanks anyway, a false bug report.
