Description:

Something seems to be broken with the initscript mongodb-1.8.2-2, starting and restart all fail immediately. Nothing is logged to /var/log/mongodb/. Downgrading to mongodb-1.8.2-1 fixes the issue.

Steps to reproduce:

# /etc/rc.d/mongodb start

My mongodb user had a shell of /bin/false (due to an earlier install), didn't realize I needed to change it to /bin/bash. Thanks!

I believe this is bug in post_upgrade() function of .INSTALL script.
It should execute the "chsh -s /bin/bash mongodb" as well.

Are you saying there is a bug with the .install or are you just looking at an outdated version?
