Description:

Opera 11.11 (and Opera 11.50) is crashing when opening the "Open/Save Dialog" after an upgrade to glibc 2.14.
I have noticed that Opera isn't applying the qt theme too.

Additional info:
* package version(s)

==> Opera 11.11 or Opera 11.50 (version 11.50 build by myself).
==> glibc 2.14

Steps to reproduce:

1) Upgrade glibc 2.13-5 and it's dependency, binutils 2.21-8 to glibc 2.14-4 and binutils 2.21.1-1.
2) open opera 11.11
3) see that the qt theme is not applied
4) open the "Open/Save dialog" (ctrl+s). Opera will crash.

5) downgrade glibc and binutils to the versions above and opera 11.11 and 11.50 will not crash.

The strange thing is that Opera 11.50 works with glibc 2.14 if i change the kde style to something other than Oxygen or QtCurve.

OK, this is not an Opera specific bug. It seems that some "qt only" applications are crashing on "Open Dialog" and aren't applying certain kde styles, like Oxygen and QtCurve. I tried VLC and it's also crashing on "Open Directory", with the message:

------- begin output -----------------------------------

VLC media player 1.1.10 The Luggage (revision exported)
Blocked: call to unsetenv("DBUS_ACTIVATION_ADDRESS")
Blocked: call to unsetenv("DBUS_ACTIVATION_BUS_TYPE")

Blocked: call to setlocale(6, "")
Blocked: call to setlocale(6, "")

------- end output -----------------------------------

Qmmp and UMPlayer are not affected.

Is this problem still the case for Opera 11.51?

11.52 is out now, does it work with that version? (once it has been packaged)
Comment by Alexander F. Rødseth (xyproto) - Friday, 04 November 2011, 08:46 GMT
11.52 does not crash here when pressing Ctrl-S. It does, however, crash at exit, but that's a different bug. The qt theme problem should be a separate bug too.
x86_64
opera 11.52-1
glibc 2.14.1-1

Can't reproduce.
