DetailsDescription:
sip-4.12.3 introduced a regression that breaks certain PyQt apps, like Picard or Anki (relevant bug report for Anki: <http://code.google.com/p/anki/issues/detail?id=2580>). sip already has a patch for that in the trunk <http://www.riverbankcomputing.co.uk/hg/sip/rev/f9f4b161c940>, but no release yet. Gentoo adds this as a patch for now (<http://sources.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/gentoo-x86/dev-python/sip/files/sip-4.12.3-sip_api_is_py_method.patch?revision=1.1&view=markup>), I think Arch should do the same.
