I have kind of a related problem with Clementine. My Nexus S isn't recognized by Clementine if gvfsd isn't running. Since I'm not running a full-fledged DE gvfsd isn't started on my system (wasn't even installed, because Clementine hasn't a dependency for it). If Clementine is compiled with GIO backend enabled gvfsd is started by Clementine itself. The Nexus S is an ordinary usb mass storage device, not MTP.

I have recompiled Clementine (0.7.1, x86_64) with GIO backend enabled and until now I haven't any sefaults on closing.

With xfce4.8 i had to recompile with GIO and install gvfs-gphoto2 to make it work. Maybe it should be an optional dependency?

I still get the error from FS#23439 when closing. I will retry to enable GIO when 0.7.2/0.8 will be available.

for what it's worth, latest git (0.7.3-538-gbc1e5ec) no longer displays the error from FS#23439 with GIO enabled.
