DetailsDynamically link the GHC binary by setting GhcDynamic = YES in the build.mk script. This will allow sharing of GHC libs between processes, greatly reducing memory usage when having multiple active ghci sessions.

The dynamic linking doesn't even seem to be complete and they updated the milestone to 7.6.1.

Can you confirm this by a citation/source? I'd rather steer away from dynamic linking if it's not certain that it helps.
