Your attached script is for openrc. It does us no good, running sysvinit.

Okay i used the cups initscript as a base for a new wpa_supplicant initscript

It works fine here but I think it need more testing

I closed such a bug report as "Won't implement" in the past already. Such a script isn't very useful, as wpa_supplicant alone cannot configure a network interface properly. In fact, wpa_supplicant is not supposed to run as a standalone daemon.

Instead, the netcfg package includes modes to
1) Configure a number of networks in network profiles and auto-select the best one.
2) Configure a single network in a network profile and use it.
3) Use an existing wpa_supplicant configuration file.
