Description:
MySQL Workbench won't store passwords although gnome-keyring (seahorse) is installed.

Additional info:
mysql-worbench version - 1:5.2.34-1

no special output when run from terminal:

[ottoshmidt@myhost ~]$ mysql-workbench
Log levels '0111000'
Ready.


Steps to reproduce:
1. establish connection to server and check to store password
2. close workbench and reopen
3. open existing connection and it will ask for password again

it doesn't store them because is not built with gnome-keyring support.

Although I mention that gnome-keyring is installed I hadn't appealed to the gnome-keyring package particularly... So the fact is that it can't store passwords and it's a problem, no matter it supports gkeys or not.

have you tried mysql-worbench version - 1:5.2.34-2 ?

I did, but the thing is that it could a distribution specific, because the same version debian install doesn't have that problem.

I guess I should have started nautilus before storing password or smth like that.. it works now
