After gtk2 2.24.4 -> 2.24.5 update:
- windows of programs that use wxGTK (2.8.12) can't be resized (and they need a "killall" for closing...)
You can try with Filezilla (3.5.0) and Aegisub (svn 5415) (this latter can't even open videos anymore).

Even xchat and xchat-systray-integration are affected:
- xchat segfaults when the "notify highlight" plugin is used (it's a perl script)
- xchat-systray-integration causes the user list panel to appear blank, without user names displayed.

Downgrading gtk2 to 2.24.4 fixes everything.

like a side note, can you try to revert this commit and see if is fixes the problem?

if you don't know how to do this let me know and i'll prepare a new package for you to test

I'm waiting for the bugzilla account confirmation, then I'll report it.
In the meantime, I tried what you suggested and it worked: xchat, xchat-systray-integration, aegisub and filezilla all work fine.
Thanks for your time and interest in this.
