It seems that makepkg functionality has changed, with $url now needing to be used in the source() variable in the PKGBUILD file - http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=24695 This change has not been documented in the Arch Packaging Standards https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_Packaging_Standards or the PKGBUILD.proto file supplied in pacman. |

That being said, the PKGBUILD.proto file and the Arch Packaging Standards documents could probably make this a bit clearer - I checked my package against those before I lodged this bug.
