Description:

It seems that makepkg functionality has changed, with $url now needing to be used in the source() variable in the PKGBUILD file -

This change has not been documented in the Arch Packaging Standards

Ok, this is partly my fault. I usually check my PKGBUILD files before I upload them, however in this case the source file cache must have made up for me not putting the fully qualified URL in the source() variable. That made me think that if a URL wasn't specified then makepkg resorted to using $url, and that that functionality had changed.

That being said, the PKGBUILD.proto file and the Arch Packaging Standards documents could probably make this a bit clearer - I checked my package against those before I lodged this bug.
