Using kernel 2.6.39 and trying to write to cifs shares in my windows 2003 server causes writing problems to my shares.

A step to reproduce is to try to write a file to the share. The result is that the file is never written and the share is not accessible from that time and on from the linux machine.

I have to mention that i have been using the combination of archlinux64/cifs shares(traditionaly mounted via an fstab entry) for 2 years without any problem and it's the fist time to suffer from that.

The only solution for the time is to get stuck to kernel 2.6.38.7 (2.6.38.8 causes huge problems to my wifi).

Please feel free to ask me any further questions so that i help to solve that annoying problem.

I have the same problem with all mounted CIFS shares since kernel 2.6.39 - which in my view is not a "low severity" issue, because I'm managing several Windows machines from my Arch machine... I'm still trying to find out the scope of the problem, because it seems that the write-to-cifs-shares-problem is file-dependent, ie. I can write some files while other freezes the system for several minutes (during which none of the cifs-shares are usable).

I just tested kernel 2.6.39.2 from testing and the problem remains unsolved.
