DetailsDescription:
The basic idea of mythtv is to have a frontend and a dedicated backend. In Arch you always have to install the whole mythtv package and all server dependencies. In ubuntu for example they split mythtv package to mythtv-frontend and mythtv-backend and make a mythtv metapackage, so that you can have frontend & backend on one machine or split over the network (as intended). Would be nice if we could provide the same packagestyle or - as a compromise - mark the server dependencies as optional. THX =) (maybe there is another solution I don't know, then please tell me ;)) |
