Description:

I've done a clean Archlinus install, with gnome 3 and xf86-video-intel-2.15-2. Everytime I use flashplayer, from the multimedia repository with nspluginwrapper, Gnome session gets killed and brings me back to the log in page (GDM). ( It also happens without flash, but it has only happened twice. If I use flash, this happens sooner or later, but happens). I have looked at the logs, but I haven't found anything. Otherwise, I've downgraded to xf86-video-intel-2.14.0-3 and everything goes fine.

Why do you use flash with nspluginwrapper? and not just multilib, second this seems to be a flashplayer issue.

Sorry, but I should have post some updates:

- When I said multimedia repository, I wanted to say multilib.
- The downgrade to xf86-video-intel-2.14.0-3 didn't solve the problem, it keeps happening (but less times).
- This only happens when using Gnome. I've been running for 2 days KDE 4.6 and everything goes fine.

This bug has been open for some time and seems to affecting many users going by the postings in the forums, some of which are quite recent. It is also affecting users running ATI and Nvidia graphics, not just Intel.

It's hit me a couple of times and today just by visiting the site www.iii.co.uk in Chromium, so I cannot attribute it directly to Flash. I use my system extensively daily and this is just the third time this bug has hit me. My experience of it is recent and certainly not as far back as June.

It causes a segmentation fault in Xorg which terminates the current Gnome session reverting the user to the gdm login. The following backtrace is snippet from the attached Xorg.0.log.old file.
