Description:

As per the new rc.conf syntax, I removed net-tools and setup my interface but wicd wouldn't work. Apparently wicd needs net-tools to start dhcpcd or something.

Additional info:
* wicd 1.7.0-9

I can confirm this, I did the same thing and un-installed net-tools after the initscript update (2011.06.3-1) and wicd broke, it didn't auto-connect to my preferred network and it hung when I tried to manually invoke wicd-curses. Re-installing net-tools corrected the issue.

rc.conf attached

EDIT/ this appears to be duplicate of  FS#24628  - removing net-tools causes wicd to crash
   rc.conf (3.6 KiB)
