Error with all 3g-modems
Connect, work 10-60 minutes and then disconnect with an error:
[ 4967.951706] usb 1-6: usbfs: process 2824 (usb_modeswitch) did not claim interface 0 before use
[ 4969.154908] usb_modeswitch[2824]: segfault at 0 ip b781f4c1 sp bf8a5230 error 4 in[b781d000+3000]

system: Linux phake 2.6.38-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Jun 7 06:40:04 UTC 2011 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2500+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux

yes, but much rarely. work 4-5 hours with modem ZTE 626, and not disconnected with ZTE627 and Huawei MF180.
Russian: Судя по имени и фамилии знаешь русский. После обновления ZTE626 отрубается раз в 4-5 часов, а ZTE627 и Huawei MF180 перестали отрубаться вообще... :)

You should try to compile it with debugging symbols and gdb usb_modeswitch
