Same bug here, with x86_64
Comment by Angelscry (Angelscry) - Sunday, 19 June 2011, 16:45 GMT
By making a rolling-back too the following packages :

- xbmc-10.1-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz
- glew-1.5.8-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz

XBMC is working correctly again. What was the goal of the XBMC 10.1-3 revision?

Arch Linux x86_64 + XBMC-PVR latest git + Youtube plugin 2.0.5 stable or 2.2.4 beta = same bug.
On Ubuntu everything is fine.

Workaround - build xbmc using gcc45 package from AUR, or just install xbmc-pvr-git http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=50894 (it uses gcc45 as makedepends).

There are two patchs for xbmc 10.1. One for working with python2.7 and one for gcc 4.6.

python2.7 patch:
http://sources.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/gentoo-x86/media-tv/xbmc/files/xbmc-10.0-python-2.7.patch?revision=1.1&view=markup

gcc 4.6 patch:
http://sources.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/gentoo-x86/media-tv/xbmc/files/xbmc-10.1-gcc-4.6.patch?revision=1.1&view=markup

bug reports:
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=350098
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367261

Based on the bug reports it will need the gcc patch so it can build with gcc 4.6. The python one is meant to help it detect python2.7.

I hope this helps.

both patches applied, please check xbmc-10.1-4

the only thing is that youtube and advanced launcher plugins work in xbmc builds with gcc 4.5, and not in builds with gcc 4.6

there is no patch yet

The bug
http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/11584
was fixed in pre-11.0 (Eden) git. Thanks to simon_e.

Will there be a fix for this in 10.1?

Is using the git version recommended?

Eden is still 4 months away according to their Trac roadmap (assuming that's accurate).
