DetailsDescription:
When running KDE 4 in 'netbook workspace' mode, it is not possible to lock the desktop. This is due to the fact that 'krunner' will not be executed upon logging into KDE. After manually executing krunner, all possible ways of locking the desktop work again. Additional info: * KDE 4.6.1 (probably kde4-workspace) * No particular configuration, except for enabling 'netbook workspace' interface. * This has been confirmed by 'erville' in https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=118183 Steps to reproduce: 1. Install KDE4 2. Configure KDE 4 to use 'netbook workspace' mode. 3. Restart and log into KDE 4 (you should now get the netbook interface) 4. Try to lock the desktop --> should not work. 5. Execute 'krunner' (note: ALT+F2 to call upon krunner shouldn't work before manually running krunner at least once) 6. Try to lock the desktop --> should work now! 7. To solve the problem for once and forever, configure 'krunner' to be start at login. |
