DetailsDescription: both 32-bit and 64-bit 2010.05 kernels fail to start CPU #1 of the 2 cores of the laptop with Core 2 Duo T5750
dmesg shows CPU1: Not responding. (needless to say Vista shows both cores OK) There does not appear to be a newer BIOS I could try and the existing BIOS has few options. I have seen some reports of this problem with AMD chips but rarely with Intel and not for 64-bit. noapic and/or acpi=off do not fix it Additional info: Advent 6411 (rebadged Uniwill L75II0) with T5750 Core 2 Duo * package version(s) * config and/or log files etc. log files from dmesg, lspci -vvnn, lshw, lsmsr and dmidecode lsmsr with -c 0 (and 1, 2 & 3) Int complains for all but 0 Steps to reproduce: just boot |

Sadly, no better with the testisos for 2011.05.31. Tried both core-i686 and core-x86_64.
Attached are dmesg and lspci -vvnn output for i686 test iso (kernel 2.6.38-ARCH).
