I upgraded to the new samba and it's buggy (I don't believe the previous version had this bug). As you can see from the attachment gnome-vfs-samba does not see all files and folders that exist on the specific directory.

There is no password set for this share, neither any special file attributes are in place.

Please note that I have restarted gnome and the problem remained (not sure if I had to kill gnome-vfs first though)

Samba by itself seems to work fine for me.

JGC, can you reproduce this with GNOME?
Comment by Jan de Groot (JGC) - Tuesday, 22 March 2005, 22:13 GMT
I can't reproduce this with my local samba server. I think it's an incompatibility between smbclient and windows XP.
Can you browse the XP machine using smbclient and look if all files and folders are present there?

I used "mount -t smbfs" and this works *perfectly* (all files are visible). It's the gnome-vfs-smb that seems to have the bug.

smbfs (kernel driver) and smbclient (the tool and the lib) are different parts. Could you try the commandline smbclient tool?

ok, just tried it. smbclient has the same bug as gnome-vfs. It seems that the new samba version is buggered. It doesn't display more than 34 items per folder.
