Description:

Chromium doesn't specify that it requires a version of gcc-libs in its package information and doesn't pull it in when installing. Here is the error message it displays.

/usr/lib/chromium/chromium: /usr/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.15' not found (required by /usr/lib/chromium/chromium)

chromium 11.0.696.68-1


* config and/or log files etc.


Steps to reproduce:

Install LXDE and then install Chromium without manually installing gcc-libs.
Try to start Chromium.

Wording is actually wrong. Chromium doesn't list a specific version of gcc-libs. gcc-libs 4.5.2-6 was installed.

that error only say that you didn't had gcc-libs 4.6.0 and nothing more. it says that you didn't had a fully up to date system or you had gcc-libs from multilib without having the repo enabled(wrong way to merge pacnew files)

Yes, I edited my comment, didn't know that there would be a response that fast.

Updating the system fixed the issue. I was under the impression that the package was responsible for checking dependencies like this. Is that not correct?
