Description:

The current Wine (1.3.20-1) is apparently compiled without XInput2 support. It would be nice if that changed in future.

Additional info:
* version: wine-1.3.20-1
* log: trace:cursor:X11DRV_XInput2_Init X Input 2 support not compiled in.

Steps to reproduce:
* Use winecfg to toggle "Automatically capture the mouse in full-screen windows".
* export WINEDEBUG=+cursor
* Run some full-screen Wine application (usually a game) and check the output.

and how is it with .21?

Problem is still there, only in the 32bit version 64bit is OK. Here is a fast way to check:

strings /usr/lib32/wine/winex11.drv.so | grep Input

I'm getting:
XInput2 not supported, refusing to clip to %s
X Input 2 support not compiled in.

I just finished compiling from ABS. My version has xinput2. Perhaps the build system didn't have lib32-libxi?

  • Field changed: Percent Complete (100% → 0%)

Appears there was a regression in 1.5.5-1:

$ pacman -Q wine
wine 1.5.5-1

$ strings /usr/lib32/wine/winex11.drv.so | grep Input
[...]
X Input 2 not available
Device is absolute, not enabling XInput2
XInput2 not supported, refusing to clip to %s
X11DRV_XInput2_Init

According to ./configure, xinput2 is definitely in there. Check with 1.5.17.

I think you're checking it wrong. If it wasn't enabled, winex11.drv.so would contain the string "X Input 2 support not compiled in." The other strings are run-time errors related to missing server-side support.

./configure says it's in. What's the problem here?

Maybe you misread my comment. I exactly said that there is no problem and Matt Obetz is checking it wrong.
